Many new parents fear that having a baby will completely change their way of life. While the addition of this new little bundle of joy will certainly mean that there are going to be some changes, it doesn't mean that you are going to have to completely change your lifestyle. Babies are extraordinarily adaptable, and as long as you meet the safety and comfort requirements of your newborn you can pretty much enjoy all the activities you did before your little baby pushchairsones arrival. That's why choosing a baby pushchair that fits you lifestyle is so important. Choosing the right pushchair can mean sharing those things you love such as long walks, visits to museums and art galleries, and a host of other activities with your child.

Make a list of features that you need

The best way to find the right pushchair for your lifestyle is to make a list of the features that you will need to find in a chair. If you plan on using the pushchair mostly in a large city or town, or to visit the sites, then you are going to want a sturdy pushchair with locking wheels and that is easy to manoeuvre.

If you plan on doing a bit of hiking or walking off the beaten path, then you are going to want a baby pushchair that is all terrain, offers your child shelter from the sun, wind and rain and has great suspension to give your baby a smooth ride. You may also want an attachable diaper bag so that your hands are free to maneuver the pushchair over rocky ground.

If you plan on doing a lot of car traveling and want to walk once you reach your destination then you might want your list to include such features as easy to fold up and a carry cot that can detach from the baby pushchair and double as a child seat or a crib when staying in a motel. You may also want to make sure that the chair fits in the trunk of your car.

You may also want a chair that is capable of doing a variety of activities and so your list should include all or part of each list.

Once you have made a list of the necessary features your baby pushchair must have, then it is time to look for the make and model of pushchair that will have those features. There are many baby pushchairs available with all sorts of features so take the time to find the ones that have most if not all the features you are looking for.

baby pramsChoosing a pushchair can be confusing and many times parents are overwhelmed by the sheer number of options available to them. Due to this it is difficult to avoid common mistakes when selecting a baby push chair. Believe me, we made many mistakes with our purchases. Knowing what mistakes other parents have made may help you avoid following in their foot steps.

No Thought to The Future
One of the mistakes many new parents make when choosing a baby pushchair is that they choose a chair for their newborn overlooking the fact that children grow rapidly. All of a sudden their baby is sitting up.

Many companies make adjustable pushchairs that will grow with your child from when they are newborns until they are 3 or 4 years old. Choosing a pushchair that grows with your child will allow you to enjoy walks with him even when he is no longer an infant.

Lifestyle
Another mistake parents often make is choosing the wrong pushchair for their lifestyle. There are all sorts of features on baby pushchairs. Some of these features make the chair excellent for walking on paved surfaces, others are better for families who want to stroll down dirt roads or even go jogging.

Making a list of what features a baby pushchair will need to fit into your lifestyle will help you choose the chair that works best for you and is the most comfortable for the child.

Handles
Another common mistake most people make when choosing a baby pushchair is not paying enough attention to the height of the handles. While handles may not seem a big concern choosing a pushchair that has too high or too low handles makes the chair difficult to push and maneuver. Choosing a pushchair with adjustable handles, will allow you to fit the handles not only to your height, but also to your husband's, the sitter's and to anyone else who may be using the pushchair from time to time.

When choosing a baby push chair it is good to remember that you not only want to choose a chair that meets your baby's needs but also fits into your lifestyle and meets your needs as well. Different lifestyles will dictate different features you should be looking for.

How Long Will I Use the Chair?
The first thing you may want to consider is the length of time you may actually want to use the pushchair. If you have a small infant you may want to find a pushchair that grows with your child. In this case, you will want to find a chair that allows your baby to lie down while it is small and then whenpushchairs prams it reaches the sitting and toddler stage allows them to sit upright. There are many makes and models that have adjustable seats that will recline for infants, and then be changed to meet your toddler's needs.

You may also want a chair that has a reversible seat unit. That way you can interact with your child as you will be face to face, and as they get a little older, the child can face away from you and begin discovering the world at large.

Will I Travel a lot with the Pushchair?
If you live in a town or city and just want a pushchair to stroll around town with your child, then all you really need is a chair that is sturdy, is easy to manoeuvre in crowded spaces, and has locking wheels.

However, if you plan on traveling with your pushchair you are going to want a chair that will fold up easily and fit in the trunk of your car. You may also want a chair that is a car seat and pushchair in one. Having a pushchair that also serves as a car seat for your child will save you from having to buy two separate items.

Where You Will Use the Chair?
If you plan on using your pushchair on paved sidewalks and streets, then a pushchair for town walking will be your best bet. However, if you want to take your little one off the beaten path, then an all terrain pushchair is a better choice.
